OK... so now you have to admit that you like the smarmy stuff.
That's ok... I won't tell anyone ![]()
Crocuses: The first flowers of spring. They often come up through the snow.
Narcissus
Domestic columbines
The right-hand picture was taken against a red background (barn) on purpose.
The above flower is a Pink Lady Slipper. It is a protected wild orchid that grows in low wooded areas. These were photographed in the central part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan - about half way between Cadillac and Grand Rapids.
I have seen them in books many times, but I saw them for the first time in the spring of 2000.
Yellow Pansy
Most people are familiar with the dwarf marigolds that are commonly used for
landscaping. This is an example of the regular sized flower. Mary didn't realize
this when she planted the seeds ![]()
I went home from Germany on leave in the summer of 1981. I timed it so that I could go with my parents to the cottage that held so many childhood memories. This is a picture of my Grandpa Kelly as he does some early morning fishing.

My father enjoys the sunset at the cottage.
This is a more recent picture. My grandparents no longer have their cottage in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This picture was taken in the summer of 2000 at my parents' cottage.
The English Ivy on this brick house was beautiful last fall (2000). Very few leaves are this shiny.
This is a common water plant known as "Pickerel Weed".
Sometimes, you see a vivid set of colors and just have to try to capture the image...
I took this picture of a red poppy a long time ago.
I took this picture of a skipper on a thistle flower when on a Volksmarch in Germany.
This is another old picture that I took when trying out my macro lens set.
