"Vanity press" is the name that was given to publishers who would publish any work by anyone - for a price. It was referred to as the "vanity press" because anyone can get his work published - no matter how useless it is - by coming up with the money. |

The Internet is the new vanity press. Anyone who ponies up the fifteen bucks a month for a connection can also publish his works of literature or art. OK ok... the real reason that I put this page up is to practice web development techniques. I have been writing programs professionally for over a decade, and I need to broaden my horizons before I become obsolete. On this site, I experimented with various web development techniques. No attempt was made to create a "professional" look. I also wrote some JavaScript applications to familiarize myself with that language. This site is definitely "Work In Progress". I will, however, refrain from using those cutesie "Under Construction" animated GIF files. |
